ROAD DEPARTMENT

It is our goal at the Miller County Road Department to provide the best service possible, dividing the responsibilities of existing road maintenance, new road construction, and bridge maintenance and repair, while keeping safety at the forefront of our operation. We strive to be at the cutting edge of road technology and improvement, while using proven methods to deliver the best roads in Miller County, which are divided into two categories.

County Maintained Roads

A county maintained road is a road within Miller County that has been accepted into the County Maintenance System by the County Judge.

Private Roads

Private roads in Miller County, Arkansas, are roads that are not maintained by the county government. If a private road is to be accepted into the County Maintenance System, it must first meet specific Miller County Specifications set by ordinance of the Quorum Court. The process involves an inspection by the Miller County Road Foreman, followed by a one-year integrity test. If the road passes the final inspection, the County Judge can court-order it into the County Maintenance System at their discretion.

Road Permits

Road Permits are required for commercial use for heavy vehicles such as log and oil field trucks. Road permits may be requested by email or calling the Miller County Judge’s office at 870-774-1301.
